UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Are you ready for your close up?
Tonya Kassler is.
The 28-year-old Kingston native is an official contestant in a new WE- TV reality series titled, "America's It Girl."
Each of the women participating are followed by a camera man throughout their everyday life as part of the series. During the final few episodes, each participant must create their own individual fashion lines as they compete for more than $100,000 in prizes.
Kassler is representing herself as Miss Utica. She is competing for the Miss Manhattan title. There are four different titles, meaning four different winners.
"Now I have this chance to show people high school is not end of the road," Kassler said, "There is more out there, life doesn't end. This empowers me to show girls you can be more confident about yourself."
Each paticipant raises fund for a chairty of their choice. Kassler chose the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
The show premieres in late July and will run for 12 weeks.
