Westmoreland manhunt suspect in custody

UPDATE: As of 4:37 p.m., authorities have confirmed that Brantley has been taken into custody and that the search is officially over.

WESTMORELAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - State Police is searching for Devon Brantley, 17, from Syracuse, NY. 

At approximately 11:45am this morning, Troopers attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding when the vehicle failed to comply, passed through the Westmoreland Toll Booth (exit 32) and crashed into a guide rail.  Two suspects fled on foot from the vehicle.  Troopers have one suspect in custody; Brantley is currently on foot in the area.

Devon Brantley is described as a black male, 5'7" tall wearing dark shorts and no shirt.  He may be in possession of a .45 caliber handgun.  Residents are urged to stay indoors in the area of the NYS Thruway and Westmoreland. 

If anyone has information about Devon Brantley or sees anything suspicious in that area is asked to contact 911 immediately.
