March for Babies coming to MVCC next weekend

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y (WKTV) - The "March for Dimes - March for Babies" event will take place next weekend on the campus of MVCC.
The walk is a way to raise awareness and dollars for medical research, and is in memory of the babies who didn't make it.
But it also is put on in honor of the ones who did make it.
Jodie Miller, of Clinton, will serve as this year's "Mission Mom".
Miller's daughter, Mackenzie, was born in 2006 at just 2 pounds, and despite spending the first few months of her life in the "NICU," is now a happy and healthy seven year old.
"Being there, you feel helpless," said Miller. "There's nothing you can do, you're just waiting, and you see so many babies come and go with all kinds of problems.
"Some are there a couple days, some are there a very long time and we were one of the lucky ones."

There are 900 awareness walks held nationwide. For more information on how to register for the event, visit the March for Babies website here.
