New Hartford senior signs letter of intent

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A senior at New Hartford High School made his college decision official on Wednesday morning.
What's exciting about it is that Derek Bard will head to the University of Virginia on a golf scholarship.
Bard signed a letter of intent surrounded by his family, friends and coaches at the New Hartford School Library.
Back in June, Bard became the first golfer from Section III to win a state title since 1992, and the first from the Mohawk Valley since 1979.
