(WKTV) Slocum-Dickson Medical Group had a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday for its newly renovated hematology/oncology suite. The suite is located on the main level of the facility at 1729 Burrstone Road in New Hartford.
"The new office suite offers the latest equipment for the preparation of chemotherapy medications and other anti-cancer agents, and includes a variety of updates that will create a warm, comfortable environment for patients undergoing treatment," said Anne Falchi, chief operating officer for Slocum-Dickson Medical Group.
The infusion area in the new space has been expanded to include additional infusion chairs and a separate phlebotomy room has been created for patients receiving injections or having blood drawn. The new infusion space also features individual areas with LED TVs for each patient, as well as large aquariums. A patient nourishment center is also located within the suite.
The new suite is located on the main level in the west wing of the building, providing easy access from the main entrance and close proximity to laboratory and radiology services, which are also located in the west wing. The hematology/oncology suite has its own dedicated patient reception and waiting area for added privacy.
Among the physicians working in the new suite are board-certified hematology/oncology specialists Dr. Sultana Razia and Dr. Manzurul A.
