Officials: Nothing suspicious in death of missing Clinton man
CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Officials say there were no traumatic injuries and nothing suspicious about the death of a Clinton man who had gone missing last month and whose body was found over the weekend in the Town of Marshall.
John Bruce, 64, had been last seen on October 16 at his Fountain Street apartment in Clinton and was missing for a month when his body was found within heavy brush in the Town of Marshall on Sunday morning, November 11.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office Forensic Identification Unit and Criminal Investigation Unit responded to the area where the body was discovered and processed the scene.
An autopsy was performed on Monday at the Medical Examiner's Office at Onondaga County Health Department Center for Forensic Sciences in Syracuse.
Officials said the preliminary autopsy report shows no traumatic injuries and nothing suspicious at this time.
The cause and manner of death are pending toxicology testing and the Oneida County Sheriff's Office will release those results upon receiving them.
