Man injured in accident after diabetic episode, wife tried to stop it

TOWN OF PARIS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Department is investigating a one-car accident that happened Thursday evening.

It happened at 7:54 p.m.

Deputies say Joseph Yaletchko. 35, of Chadwicks was driving his vehicle westbound on Sulpher Springs Road and had a diabetic episode.

His wife, Bobbiejo Yaletchko was following in another vehicle.

She attempted to stop him several times, but was unsuccessful.

As Joseph passed the intersection of Bray Road, he lost consciousness and his vehicle went into the wrong lane, then off the south shoulder of the road.

The vehicle rolled several times before landing on the grass of Sulphur Springs Golf Course.

Joseph suffered from chest and back pain and was rushed to St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Fire crews, rescue workers and several good Samaritans helped out at the scene.

Joseph was issued tickets for operating a vehicle without a license, and for failure to keep right.
