Rome man arrested and charged with DWI after police respond to fender bender call

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police arrested a man for rear ending another car while being highly intoxicated New Years Eve.

Michael Barbato, 46 of Rome was arrested around 1:40 a.m this morning on Oriskany and Schuyler Street.

Police said they responded to a fender-bender call. They quickly realized, after speaking with Barbato he was intoxicated.

Barbato's BAC was .18 percent.

He has been charged with two counts of a DWI, aggravated DWI and following another vehicle too closely.
