Rome teen faces charges for having sexual contact with child

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - State Police, along with the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, have arrested 19-year-old Dustin Smith, of Rome for allegedly photographing intimate parts and having sexual contact with a child under the age of ten.

Smith is charged with one count of Unlawful Surveillance in the 2nd Degree, and 1 count of Sex Abuse in the 1st Degree.

He was arraigned in the Town of Lee Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash and $50,000 bail.

The investigation was conducted by State Police Investigator Todd Grant , who is currently assigned to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

The victim has been offered counseling services through the Child Advocacy Center.
