SUNYIT getting ready for first Quad-C job fair

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - After years of hoping and months of anticipation, the Computer Chip Commercialization Center (Quad-C) at SUNYIT is nearing completion and finally hiring.

On Tuesday, SUNYIT is hosting a job fair that is full and already closed out.

Participants had to register ahead of time in order to take care of things such as posting resumes before they get to the fair.

Officials at the school want to make sure everyone knows that scientific jobs represent a huge need, but those aren't the only skills they seek.

"It's a broad base, you need a tremendous range of skills to really run an operation like this," said a representative of Nano Utica. "So we'll have people that come in with facilities expertise, business support, and certainly eventually we'll have quite a few people that will be working in the clean room, doing that nuts and bolts work, but it really is a broad-based operation."

For those closed out of Tuesday's job fair, there will be another one  within the next four to six weeks.

As soon as the date and registration information become available, we will be sure to relay that to the public.
