According to police, around 1:15 a.m. Sunday morning, officers were flagged down by security at Deja Vu bar. The person told officers a man was denied entry to the bar and was making threatening statements to employees, including threatening to shoot them and their family members.

Officers spoke with Rodriguez, who was the man allegedly making the threats. He seemed calm and began to walk away. He then allegedly approached security personnel, threw down his phone and approached them in a threatening manner. When officers attempted to arrest Rodriguez, he allegedly resisted and several of his friends surrounded the officers and are accused of threatening and punching them. The group eventually grew to around 100 people, many of whom were threatening toward the officers, police say.

Later Sunday, the front door to the police station was kicked and shattered by someone police believe to be a supporter of one of the arrested men. That case is still under investigation.
