Teen charged in fatal May crash in Bridgeport

SULLIVAN, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Syracuse teen has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide in a May crash that killed a fellow teen and injured a woman.

On Thursday morning, September 2, Chelsea Lynn Kuss, 17, of Syracuse, was arrested at the State Police in Sullivan after turning herself in with her attorney.

Kuss was charged with Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, a class "B" Felony, Aggravated Vehicular Assault, a class "C" Felony, Driving with a BAC over .08% and Reckless Driving, both misdemeanors of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Kuss was processed and arraigned before a Town of Sullivan Justice and was remanded to Madison County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $15,000 secure bond.

The arrest follows the investigation of a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Route 31 in Bridgeport May 24, 2010 at 2:47 p.m., which resulted in the death of Victoria Deverso, 17, of Liverpool, and serious injury to Peggy Sue Blume, 38, of Bridgeport.
