Power restored to greater Rome area

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Power is restored to the nearly 2,500 customers that were in the dark in the greater Rome area, according to National Grid.

The Town of Lee was most significantly hit, with a majority of the outages. The Town of Western and City of Rome were also impacted.

The Walmart in Rome was closed due to the outages, but is reportedly back open.

National Grid officials say an animal got into a power substation to cause the outage.
