(WKTV) - Three Lyons Falls residents have been arrested on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.
According to Lewis County Sheriff's officials, James R. Sees, 41, Nicole L. Sees, 28 and Jody R. Kirk, 27, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree - methamphetamine, and unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, third degree.
James and Nicole Sees were also charged with unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material, officials say.
The investigation began Sept. 3, when sheriffs deputies went to the High Falls Apartments in Cherry Street to arrest Nicole Sees on unrelated charges. James Sees and Kirk were also arrested on misdemeanor drug charges, officials say.
According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, the apartment was then secured and a search warrant was signed late that evening. New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team unit was contacted and the residents of the other 11 apartments were evacuated.
At daybreak on Sept. 4, CCSERT members, wearing protective suits, entered the building and processed the area. Several items were secured, including a working meth lab and a quantity of finished product. Residents were allowed to return to their homes at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 4.
On Wednesday, James and Nicole Sees and Kirk were arraigned in the village of Lowville Court and were ordered held without bail. The investigation is ongoing.
