Tompkins County man accused of robbing Turning Stone

(WKTV) - A Newfield man faces charges after he allegedly robbed the Turning Stone Casino, New York State Police said.

Jacob Walsh, 30, of Newfield is charged with robbery.

According to authorities, there was a report of an armed robbery at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Turning Stone Casino. Walsh allegedly approached a cashier at the casino and told her had a weapon and to fill his backpack with money. Police say Walsh then fled on foot toward the New York State Thruway. Shortly after troopers were dispatched to the area, Walsh was found hiding in the wooded area near Exit 33, authorities say. He was taken into custody without incident.

Walsh was sent to the Oneida County Jail on $60,000 bond. State police and the Oneida Nation Police Department are continuing to investigate.
