Utica College hockey players bowl for charity

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica College Men's Hockey Team made some big waves Saturday night as they beat perennial powerhouse Oswego State for the second time this season.

In addition to their success on the ice, the U.C. players are also pretty good at community relations. On Saturday, the team played host to a bowling event at Pin-o-Rama in Utica, to raise money for the Move-Alongs Sled Hockey program, a program that helps those with medical limitations learn how to play sports.

Caylie Fluharty, the event coordinator for Utica College's Student Council said, "I had a do a confirmation project: The Power of One, where one person's idea can make something big and my teacher's son has Spina bifida and he plays for the sled hockey team."

The public was invited to bowl right along with the players.
