Utica Community Food Bank looking at new location

By NEWSChannel 2 Staff

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica Community Food Bank has been closed for one week due to electrical problems at the Bleecker Street facility.

President of the Board of Directors, Mark Wolber, says Utica's Codes Department did an inspection and found the conditions to be dangerous.

Several new locations were being looked at but fell through, so now the Food Bank is trying to get into the old Chatter Box Lounge on Genesee Street.

The Central New York Food Bank, out of Syracuse, has to give final approval for the move, as the two pantries are affiliated. The Genesee Street location of the former Chatter Box Lounge would be temporary and free.
