Utica Police call in backup to respond to fight of 200 people

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Nearly 200 people involved in a massive fight in Utica Friday evening. The brawl was so big, Utica Police had to call in help from other agencies.

The fight broke out shortly before 8:00 p.m. at the Parkway Recreation Center. A basketball game was going on at the time.

Saturday morning police said that knives were displayed during one of the fights and two 17-year olds were stabbed in the chest. Both were transported to the hospital, but the injuries are not life threatening, and police say neither teen was cooperative with investigators.

A 38-year-old man has been charged with harassment, obstruction and resisting arrest.
