Utica Republican Committee still seeking candidates for endorsement

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The City of Utica Republican Committee says it is still seeking candidates for some positions that will be on the ballot November 8.

Republican candidates are still being sought for City Council President, and three Council-at-Large seats, according to new City Republican Chair Joe Hobika.

The committee screened candidates on April 6 who had sent in a formal letter of interest and endorsed Robert Cardillo for a mayoral candidate.

Utica City Comptroller Michael Cerminaro says he will also run for the seat as a Republican, and will likely face off against Cardillo in a Fall primary.

Those interested in seeking the Republican endorsement for Council President or Council at Large seat should email their resume and letter of interest to cityofuticagop@gmail.com.
