Utica man arrested after tagging businesses


UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica man was arrested for painting graffiti on business buildings, Saturday night.

At approximately 7:40 p.m., Utica Police responded to a call on Columbia St., and found Michael Roberts, 32, with paint on his hands, and paint brushes hanging out of his pocket.

Upon investigation, officers learned that the suspect caused extensive damage to two different buildings by spray painting on them.

He is currently being charged with 2 counts of Graffiti, a misdemeanor, as well as, Criminal Mischief.

According to the New York State Division of Parole, Roberts is currently a Parolee who was released from jail just one month ago, on August 8.

He will face these charges at a later date.
