Waiters says he's going pro

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Sophomore guard Dion Waiters, the sixth man of the year in the Big East and in all college basketball, announced his intentions to enter the NBA Draft Monday.

In a press release by the school, Waiters said "I've decided to pursue my dream of becoming a professional basketball player by entering my name in the NBA Draft this spring. I plan on signing with an agent."

Waiters continued, "I want to thank my coaches and my teammates. I've had an amazing experience at Syracuse University.  I also want to thank all the Syracuse basketball fans. They are the best in college basketball."

This season, Waiters averaged 12.7 points per game, 2.5 assists and 1.9 steals.  He also made 48.2% of his field goals.
