Waters from Oneida Creek continue to flood city
ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Water from the historic cresting of the Oneida Creek are remaining to flood the city of Oneida.
More than 150 people were forced to evacuate.
On Saturday, emergency personnel went door to door, helping residents retreive medicines and other belongings.
The American Red Cross is opening shelters for people who have been displaced. Resident Edward Dence says there were more than six feet of water inside his home. He said, "I've been here since 1965 and back in 1971 we had a flood. It wasn't this bad. I took a row boat around our block. This time you could take a yacht around it. That's how bad it was. I've never seen water like this before."
