United Way kicks-off annual campaign

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV)- The United Way of the Valley and the Greater Utica Area launched it's 92nd Annual Campaign Tuesday night at the Stanley Center for the Arts.

This year's event is unlike any other, in that, there will be no event chair. Instead the whole community gets to chair.

United Way representatives say the move will help build a stronger community-- and stronger campaign.

Normally, every year there is a specific monetary goal set, but this year participants are asked to make a personal goal. Then those goals will be combined to create a community wide goal.

"When you combine all the efforts of these individual goals, it's going to combine into one big community improvement of our fundraising campaign," said Brenda Episcopo, executive director.
