24 hours of terror in Mohawk Valley ends with suspect's death
HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - 24 hours of terror came to an end the same way it began, with gunfire. Law enforcement officials shot and killed alleged gunman Kurt Myers, the man suspected of shooting six people Wednesday, killing four of them.
Myers was found hiding in an abandonded building, the former Glory Days bar, on North Main Street in the Village of Herkimer. Officials say nearly 20 armed gunmen entered the building. Myers fired a shot, killing an FBI K-9 and police returned fire, killing Myers.
Police said Thursday that they had no contact with Myers while he was inside the building, which ended up being for about 20 hours.
