Benefit planned to raise money for shooting victim's families

MOHAWK, N.Y. (WKTV) - Some neighbors in the tight knit Mohawk Valley community are planning a benefit for all of the victims of Wednesday's shooting spree: the families of the four who died, and the two victims still fighting for their lives in local hospitals.

The organizers want to provide support for unexpected expenses, but also, give those touched by this tragedy a chance to come together and feel less alone.

Organizer Ed View, "We're going to try and raise some good money so all of these six victims and their families can have something. I know it's monetary but monetary does help, especially if you don't have the money for unplanned expenses."

The benefit will be next Sunday, March 24, noon to 8:00 p.m. at the Mohawk Legion. To help out, people can call 895-0183.

Ticket prices are yet to be determined.
