Chilean miners closer to freedom

By WKTV News

COPIAPO, CHILE (NBC) - After spending two months underground in a Chile gold and copper mine, 33 miners could be reunited with their families as soon as tonight.

The men will be lifted out of the mine one by one, wearing green overalls bearing their names. The first out will be the fittest followed by the weakest. One of the miners has hypertension, another is diabetic, while others have dental or respiratory problems.

The capsule that will be lifting the men out went through a test run yesterday and was lowered within 40 feet of the miners.
