Bernard Palmer, 47, of Utica, was arrested after Utica police responded regarding a robbery on December 4, 2011
Upon arrival police spoke to the victim who stated that he and an acquaintance were in his house when the acquaintance became upset. The victim said that he was struck several times in the head and upper body with household objects until he was unconscious. When he woke he was missing his watch, necklace and money from his pocket and the other man was gone.
The victim was treated at a local hospital; he suffered multiple cuts and a fractured orbital bone. Police began their investigation and on the following Tuesday arrested Palmer.
The suspect was charged with the following:
Assault 1st-B felony
Robbery 1st-B felony
Criminal Possession of a weapon-D felony
