I ran the boilermaker from 1998-2002, I had a great time and finished everytime. My times ranged from 1hr 20 min to 1hr 30 min. I wish that I can make it home and still run. Now that I live in Florida it is hard for me to come home then. Good luck to all runners.

I can't express how grateful I am to have been chosen to join the Go the Distance team. I went into this not knowing if I could run the 9.3 miles but now with the help of this team I can't wait for July 13th. I'll see you on Monday!

Sorry Team I couldn't make it on Saturday. We had my son's 4th birthday party and had a lot to do. I ran in the evening and wish I had everyone there, it is amazing how much it helps to have the TEAM to keep you moving. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this Wed or Saturday either because I am taking a class for work. See you all again on Monday to do the hill.

Wow, I am truly amazed at the Class of 2008! Great job to all those who came out for the Wednesday night run. Each of you did a wonderful job and you all worked very hard. I am so happy that Bonnie and I can help all of you in any way we can. We both were in your shoes not that long ago. The support from everyone who is there right by your side on this journey is the motivation (don't forget your hard work each week) that you need to help you accomplish the Boilermaker. Keep up the good work!!

Like Mary said, I too am honored to be part of this team. My first run was hard--I wolked a few times. I returned to the same course on Wednesday and ran twice aroud the MVCC track without stopping this time--improvement. I run in the mornings because I work 3 PM to 11 PM so anyone interested in runnign in the AM, let me know.

Well our team got together again tonight and we ran about 2 1/4 miles. It was awesome! The support of the team is so overwhelming and I wouldn't be able to do it w/o everyone. It is going to be so great when we all cross the finish line together. Thank you Kim and Bonnie for coming with us tonight and sharing your stories and giving us support :-) See you all on Saturday

I am a brand new runner who started training in February. I ran my first 5K this month! Runners are a great group of people who are always ready to support and motivate you. You all will do great and can be proud of your hard work! Even if you finish last you are ahead of everyone at home on the couch! Kim Stevener is my sister-in-law and Anne Sheehan is my friend so I am looking forward to joining you on some of your runs! There will be good days and bad...do NOT give up on bad ones!!

Good Luck to the entire Class of 2008! Tomorrow is the BIG day which you begin your journey that will take you to the greatest experience when you cross that finish line on July 13th. Remember to listen to all the tips that you will receive while training throughout the 12 weeks, they sure do come in handy in training and on race day. Even when I run now, these tips are still in my head to get me up hills or help me when I'm having a difficult run. Best of luck to each of you!!!

Best wishes to the 2008 Go The Distance Team! You can do it! I ran my first Boilermaker in 1996 and again in 2006! There is no better feeling of accomplishment and pride! You know the time you will put into preparing for it and then the overwhelming elation you will feel when you cross that finish line after 9.3 miles! No matter what your individual outcome you are all winners already for simply pursuing the challenge. You'll be great in 2008!
