Spartans Complete The Season Sweep Over Clinton

CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - For many years the New Hartford Spartans were the hunters when it came to the Clinton Warriors. This season, its the other way around. For the third straight time, the Spartans avoided being the kill and got the win, beating the Warriors 4-2 on Friday night.

It wasn't easy as Clinton got off to the 1-0 lead on a first period Chris Dosch goal. This after both teams lost a player each on game misconduct penalties. Second period, New Hartofrd evened the score on a Tom Fiorentino goal from Jake Silberlicht. Late in the period Spartans took the lead on a nice pass from Andrew Kelleher to Alex Fukes. It was 2-1 after two.

Third period after Clinton tied the game up at two, Mike Zalewski scored what would be the game winning goal with four minutes left. Pat Ryan added an insurance goal about 30 seconds later to seal the deal. New Hartford improves to 15-2 oveall.

Clinton drops to 5-10. In the loss, Devin Grabski stopped 43 shots.
