UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The annual Blue & Gold Classic showcasing some of the top regional American Legion Baseball teams gets underway this week. It's a chance for area teams and fans to check out some of the best players and teams with the most potential to advance in the state tournament as well as the world series.

On Wednesday evening, Adrean, Utica and New Harford join eight out-of-area teams for pitch, catch and run contest at Murnane Field. Games begin on Thursday morning. For a complete schedule as well as standings and box scores, check out http://www.legionbaseball.com/blueandgold.cfm
