Cooperstown comes back to beat Holland Patent

HOLLAND PATENT, N.Y. (WKTV) - It's never over til it's over. Just ask Holland Patent. Cooperstown scored two late touchdowns in the fourth quarter to come back and beat the Golden Knights 21-14 on Friday night. The Redskins improved to 4-0 taking over first place in the Class C East.
Holland Patent looked solid early after a John Iselo touchdown run gave them a 7-0 lead. Later in the second quarter, the Golden Knights were in control after Alex Smith threw deep to Matt Clawson for a 44 yard score. Holland Patent had a 14-0 lead.
Cooperstown would battle back on a Alec Silvera touchdown to get within 14-7 at the half. Throughout the third and early part of the fourth quarter, both teams looked sloppy. Holland Patent's downfall came in the fourth quarter. The turned the ball over three times and Cooperstown turned the final two fumbles into touchdown downs. Tyler Hoke's pass was deflected in the end zone by Holland Patent’s Alex Smith and caught for a 21-yard touchdown by Jeremiah Ford. The extra point tied the game at 14.
On the ensuing kick-off, the Knights fumbled with Cooperstown recovering. Then with just over a minute left, Tanner Niedzialkowski score the game winner on a one yard run.
Holland Patent drops to 3-1.
