(WKTV) - Proctor grad Will Smith is going to the Super Bowl.

The former Ohio State star is headed to his first big dance, as are the Saints after they beat the Vikings 31-28 in overtime. Smith had six tackles in the game, five unassisted, and forced a fumble by Percy Harvin in the fourth quarter of the NFC Championship game that set up a go ahead touchdown that gave the Saints a short lived 28-21 lead.

The Saints defense forced 6 fumbles, though they recovered only 3 of them, and picked off 2 Brett Favre passes.

Will Smith, according to our records, is the first area high school football player to play in the Super Bowl.

New Orleans will meet the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday, February 7th from Miami, Florida.
