Spartans overcome slow start to beat Whitesboro

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New Harford hockey team overcame a 3-1 deficit to beat rival Whitesboro 6-3 Saturday night at the Rec Center.  Clayton Whittemore had three goals and an assist to lead the Spartans, who are back in the lead of Division II East, two points ahead of RFA.  Alex Fukes added a goal and two assists for the defending Division II State Champions.

Ryan Smith had 45 saves for the Warriors in 45 minutes.  Whitesboro (6-10, 4-6) will face Hamilton Wednesday.  New Hartford (12-3-1, 9-0-1 D-II East) will host Proctor on Wednesday, before their showdown with RFA on Friday.
