8th Annual SITRIN Celebrity Classic a huge hit
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - It keeps getting bigger and better and this year was the best of all. The 8th Annual SITRIN Celebrity Classic Wheelchair basketball game had something for everyone.
Everyone that is a fan of fun. The game featured former Syracuse guard Andy Rautins. While he only played five acutal minutes in the game, he signed autographs and spoke to anyone that would come up to him. At halftime of the wheelchair game, he took on a fan in a three point contest. The fan hit 10 three-pointers in 45 seconds. Rautins would hit 10 and then with three seconds left, hit the final three-pointer left-handed to get the win.
"It's been great. " said Rautins at halftime. "I mean to come out here and support the people that have supported us all year it's a great feeling. It's an electric atmosphere in the gym, to get out there on the court with those guys in those wheelchairs, ya know they can really can really play some ball. It's a whole different perspective and it's great. I really appreciate being here."
Other celebrities in attendance were two-time Olympian Erin Hamlin and Matt "The Hammer" Hamill.
For seven years the SITRIN Stars have beaten the Celebrities. Make it eight as the Stars won 43-30.
