Morrison among Boxing HOF guests

By By MIKE LEVIN

CANASTOTA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Former heavyweight champion Tommy "The Duke" Morrison was among the honored guests at the Boxing Hall of Fame Induction weekend.  In addition to his stellar career in the ring, Morrison also played the classic villain, Tommy Gunn, in Rocky V

Morrison's career was seemingly cut short in 1996 when he reportedly received an HIV positive blood test from the Nevada Boxing Commission, and was suspended indefinitely.  But in 2007 he tested negative and was granted a license to fight in West Virginia.

Morrison has not officially retired and hopes to go a few more rounds in the ring before he calls it quits.  In the meantime, he also trains up and coming fighters in Wichita, Kansas.

He didn't shy away in discussing his past either.  Morrison admits that he's made mistakes, and led a pretty wild lifestyle in his youth.  "Things change, you grow up and other things start becoming more important and you start looking back and realizing that I've waded through, my era was a tough era. The Bowes, Lewis, the heavyweight division was pretty tough."
