SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The NY Mills boys basketball team not only won their fifth straight section title Sunday, but also got head coach Mike Adey his 500th win. The Marauders beat Cincinnatus 60-35 in the Section III Class D final at the Carrier Dome.
Nick Comenale led Mills with 20 points, while Zach Vennaro added 16 points and 13 rebounds. The Marauders will play in the regionals, Saturday March 9th at Oneonta State.
In Sunday's other section finals, Mohawk played their last basketball ever, with the merger coming with Ilion next year, falling 68-65 to Beaver River in the overall Class C final. Carson Murphy led the Mohicans with 37 points.
In Class AA, Proctor was mauled 60-34 by Henninger in the third straight final between the two teams. The Raiders finished at 12-9.
In Class A, New Hartford fell 57-44 to Bishop Ludden. Mark Chanatry led all scorers with 16 for the Spartans, who finished at 17-4.
