ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The RFA Black Knights played one of their best games of the season but came up short in a 42-36 loss to Auburn on Friday night.
Joe Schillace rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns for the Maroon Knights, who improve to 3-3 overall. RFA was led by Josh Reed who caught two scores and took a kickoff 75 yards for another.
Rome tied the game late in the fourth quarter on an Angus Evans touchdown pass to Reed to make it 36-36. However, Justin Valentino connected with Jack Burgmaster for a 15 yard score to give Auburn the lead for good.
At 0-6, RFA will miss sectionals for the third time in four years.
