H.S. Hockey:Clinton to play for a Section III title with win over Oswego
CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Luke Lauchert scored the game winning goal with just under three minutes to play in the third period as Clinton is headed to the Division II Section III final with the 5-3 win over Oswego on Wednesday night.
The Warriors trailed 1-0 after the first period, but early in the second they tied it on a Tucker Franz goal. Just three minutes later, Oswego's Josh Phillips scored his second goal of the night to make it 2-1 Bucs.
But that lead lasted just 25 seconds as Ryan Perry tallied to once again tie the game. Late in the period, after Oswego retook the lead at 3-2, Ben Hobaica tied the game with under a minute to go.
Lauchert's goal with under three minutes to go sends Clinton back to the Aud for the first time since 2007. They will face Cazenovia at 1pm on Saturday.
