Clinton, Hamilton win titles, Coop falls

By MIKE LEVIN

CHITTENANGO, N.Y. (WKTV) - While a section title for Hamilton boys soccer is a regular occurence, one for Clinton isn't, but both won their games Saturday to take home their respective titles.  Hamilton won their fourth straight, topping Cincinnatus 1-0 in the Section III D-1 final, while Clinton beat Marcellus 2-1 in overtime in the B final.  It's just the second title win for the Warriors and the first since 2006.

Drew Thompson scored for the Emerald Knights, who beat Cincy by the same score last year, en route to a berth in the state championship game.

Andrew DeBraggio scored the first goal for Clinton, who took a 1-0 lead at halftime.  But Sean Dunn tied it up in the second half to end the game to OT, where Devin Cornelius was the hero for the Warriors, scoring just 43 seconds into the extra period.

In the first game of the section final tripleheader, Cooperstown's perfect season came to an end after a 2-1 loss in overtime to Tully.  Tom Lamshon scored the game winning goal.
