Cooperstown knocks off West Canada

NEWPORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - The defending Class C section champion Cooperstown boys soccer team is rolling along again in 2010, notching their tenth win of the year Tuesday, 3-0 at West Canada Valley.  Michael Rowley scored two of the Redskins' goals while Jacob Chase had the other.

Chase had the game's first goal, off a direct kick, and added an assist just seconds later as he fed Rowley in front of the net.  Rowley kicked the ball up and over Indians keeper Mike Sternberg, then headed the ball in. Rowley's second goal came in the second half.

With the win, Cooperstown improved to 10-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 in league play.  West Canada fell to 5-3-2, 3-3-1 in the league.
