By MIKE LEVIN

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs pulled off a huge win over the Albany Dutchmen Friday night at Veterans Memorial Park.  The win was huge for the Dawgs, who have been struggling in the PGCBL standings, beating the first place Dutchmen.

Eric Helmrich hit a three run home run as part of a five run fourth inning for MV.  Chris Cruz and Hassan Evans, of HCCC, also drove in runs in the inning.

The DiamondDawgs (3-4) play in Newark Saturday before coming back home Monday to face the Pilots again.

Before the game, the team honored the section champion Little Falls girls basketball team as coach Pam Munger and her players, including former NEWSChannel 2 Athlete of the Week Jenna Becker, took turns throwing out a ceremonial first pitch.
