Legion Baseball: Ft Schuyler tops Sherrill in battle for second

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Fort Schuyler Post 1290 defeated Sherrill Post 230 Monday night in District V Legion baseball from Delutis Field.  The 3-0 win tied both teams, who are battling with Smith for second place behind undefeated Whitestown, at 7-2.

Jeff Albright pitched a complete game shutout for Ft. Schuyler, striking out nine, while only giving up three hits.  J.T. Ross drove in two runs, on a double and a triple.  Aaron Macchia drove in the third Schuyler run.

Both Albright and Sherrill starting pitcher Rob Reeder took no hitters into the middle innings, with Reeder's broken up in the third on Ross's RBI triple, and Albright's ended in the fourth, on a single by James Flagler.
