Gary Heenan and Comets Management
By MIKE LEVIN

In the wake of Friday's big announcement of the return of the AHL to the Mohawk Valley, in the form of the AHL's Utica Comets, we've got more from the team's management, as well as the head coach of the team's co-tenants at the Aud, Gary Heenan from UC.

The Comets, while owned by the Vancouver Canucks, will be managed by Mohawk Valley Garden, which includes former NHL goalie Rob Esche, as well as former AHL owner Frank DuRoss.  Both spoke to NEWSChannel 2 about why the new team will work this time, 20 years after the Utica Devils left town.

With the Comets coming to the Aud, which will be getting a $5 million facelift, the ones most affected are the team that's built the building back as a big time hockey barn, the Utica College Pioneers.  Head Coach Gary Heenan spoke with us about a number of topics, including the Comets, the team's huge 2012-13 season, as well as his decision to return to UC after being courted by Division I Alaska-Anchorage.
