HCCC departs for nationals

By MIKE LEVIN

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - The HCCC softball team left for the NJCAA World Series Monday afternoon.  It's the first trip to the nationals since 1998 for the Lady Generals.

Just getting to the series, in Rochester, Minnesota, will be a challenge, as the team is taking a 20 hour bus ride to get there.  But the girls are still excited about the opportunity they have.

"A day like this there's a lot of emotions, a lot of girls saying good-bye to roomates, that's the toughest thing about a spring sport, there's finals, some girls are missing graduation," said head coach P.J. Anadio.  "Other sports sports finish their season mid-semester, so spring sports are toughest on the kids.  There's a lot of different emotions right now."

HCCC will face the College of DuPage from Illinois, Thursday morning at ten.
