Hall of Famers hit the links

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - Despite the threat of bad weather, just under half of the 47 returning Hall of Famers came out of the annual Hall of Fame Invitational and the Leatherstocking Golf Course on Saturday.

Names like George Brett and Gary Carter joined Andre Dawson and Whitey Herzog as two of the three members of the Class of 2010 hit the links. Dawson, who is headed in after his 9th year on the ballot, said he goes over his speech every day. "Of course it is ready to go. I have a few ideas I might toss around I may make that determination at the last minute."

The field was a bit smaller than in years past, but for those in attendance it's a special time to reconnect with their very special fraternity. That fraternity will gather on Saturday night for the parade at 6pm and then again on Sunday at 1:30pm at the Clark Sports Center of the Induction Ceremony.
