LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WKTV) - Saturday's Section III softball finals ended being great for Adirondack and Hamilton, but not so much for New Hartford. While the Spartans fell 8-0 to Phoenix in Class A, Adirondack beat Solvay 9-4 in Class B and Hamilton pounded Stockbridge Valley 11-4 in Class D.
The Spartans made a few errors, but also ran into a tough pitcher in Brittany Sears of the Firebirds, who didn't allow a hit until the game's midway point.
Adirondack and Hamilton both advance to Tuesday's regionals, with the Wildcats going to Gillette Field in Cicero at 5 p.m. and the Emerald Knights going to Binghamton at 5:30.
