UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The MVCC women's basketball team will play for the chance to go to nationals Sunday, after knocking off Fulton-Montgomery 71-52 in the Region III semis Saturday.  The Lady Hawks will meet OCC Sunday at 1 p.m. in the champship game, with the winner advancing to the NJCAA Division III tournament in Rochester, Minnesota.

Both teams are 29-2, with MV ranked #2 in the nation and OCC ranked #7.

In the semis, the Raiders made a push in the second half, getting back within single digits, but MV pulled away again to put the game away.

Shaniece Brown led the way with 25 points for the Hawks, while Proctor grad Barrie Brooks added 14 and Stevie Ray had 12.
