Marauders heading back to Glens Falls

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WKTV) - For the fourth time in the last five years, the New York Mills Boys Basketball team is going to Glens Falls for the NYSPHSAA Class D Final Four.  The Marauders punched their ticket Saturday, beating Charlotte Valley 55-38 in the regionals at OCC's SRC Arena.

Mills went on a 25-2 early on and never loooked back.  Former Sports Express Athlete of the Week and All-Star Nick Comenale led the Marauders with 20 points and seven rebounds, while fellow senior Zach Vennaro added 12 points and five rebounds.

The Marauders are the #1 ranked Class D team in the state and are hoping to win their second state title in the last four years.  Mike Adey's team won it all in 2011, but fell short of even making the championship game last year, as well as in 2010.

Mills will face Moriah, out of Section VII, in the state semifinals, Friday, March 14th at 11:45 a.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center.  The winner advances to the title game, Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
