Marauders to meet West Canada in Wadas final

NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The NY Mills boys basketball team will face West Canada Valley in the championship game of the annual Ed Wadas Classic Saturday, after both won their first round games Thursday.  It's a matchup that a few years ago would've featured some of the best talent in the Mohawk Valley, including Jared Suderley, Fred Russ and Matt Welch.

The Marauders topped Hamilton 74-35 Thursday, with Nick Comenale scoring 28 points and adding five rebounds.  Terry Nichols was the only other Mills player in double figures, with 12.  Logan Bailey led the Emerald Knights with 17, while Zach Dow added ten.

In the first game of the day, West Canada topped Oneida 78-65.  Mike Sternberg and Robert Davenport led the way for the winners, though Kyle Peck of Oneida had the day's top line, scoring 33.

Hamilton and Oneida will face off in the Consolation game, Saturday at 6, followed by the Mills-West Canada championship.
