CVA wins first football game


ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - The new Central Valley Academy football team played their first game Friday night, beating Mexico 30-9.  The Thunder combines players from the old Ilion and Mohawk schools into one Class B team. 

CVA got on the board in the first quarter, when Mitchell Werenczak scored on a six yard touchdown run.  In the third quarter, Werencazk would also score on a TD off a blocked punt.

Mykel Farley carried the ball 12 times for 132 yards, also scoring a touchdown.  CVA took an 8-2 lead at halftime, then took control in the third quarter.

The Thunder head for Cazenovia next Saturday, to meet the defending Class B section champion Lakers.
